Labradors have been among the most popular dogs in the world for decades, and for good reason. They are friendly with almost everyone, highly trainable, and adaptable enough to work as guide dogs, detection dogs, and family companions.
That friendliness comes packaged with a lot of energy, a strong appetite, and a lengthy adolescence. A bored Labrador can be destructive, and an overfed one gains weight quickly.

Outgoing, even-tempered, and sociable. Most Labs love people and other dogs. They tend to be poor guard dogs — more likely to greet an intruder than deter one. Many remain puppyish until two or three years old.
🎾 Exercise
At least an hour of activity a day for adults, ideally mixing walks with retrieving games and swimming, which most Labs adore. Mental work such as scent games and training helps settle them.

A short, dense double coat that sheds year-round and heavily twice a year. Brush weekly, more during shedding seasons. Check and clean ears regularly, especially after swimming.
